Princess Diana was born Diana Spencer in 1961 in Norfolk,
England. She was the daughter of an aristocratic family. Her parents
got divorced when she was very young. Then the Spencer children
lived with their father. Diana went to a private girls'school
in Switzerland. She returned to England and worked as a kindergarten
teacher .Soon after,she started to date Prince Charles, who was
a friend of the Spencer family.
Prince Charles and Diana became engaged,and in 1981 ,they

the wedding on television. They had two sons, William and Harry.

By 1992 ,the marriage had difficulties. Princess Diana
and Prince Charles separated. In 1995, Diana gave a famous television
interview.She talked about her personal life and why she was unhappy.
The royal family never talked about personal problems. The interview
was unusual,but people liked the princess's honesty. In 1996,
Princess Diana and Prince Carles divorced.
After the divorce ,Diana continued her work to help people
.She worked with the poor, with people who had drug problems.
Everyone loved her.
In 1997 , Diana had a romance with Dodi al-Fayed, an Egyptian
millionaire. One evenintg they were in Paris. Photographers followed
their car. The car was going very fast, and it crashed. Diana
and Dodi died in the accident. It was August 31,1997. She was
only 36 years old. People all over the world were very sad about
Princess Diana's death. They will always remember her as the "People's
Princess."
